Hi I'm Craig Harker

Born and raised in Utah. I play guitar, I have big glasses, I love my family, and I love the gospel in my life!

About Me

I graduated with an Associates of Science from college a month before I graduated high school in 2012. I play guitar, I love it, I teach it, and I play guitar with my band! I definitely am someone who enjoys Classic Rock and Rhythm and Blues. Two of my favorite guitarists would have to be Joe Satriani & Jimi Hendrix, anything with a guitar line that catches my ear and I'm sold! I love guitar! But more importantly I love my faith, I love my family! There's me, my mom, my dad, my grandma, and my four sisters! My family means the world to me and I wouldn't be the same without them. I know that life can be hard at times, that is why I am so grateful that I have my family! People who I can always turn to, who love you no matter what. I feel the love that the Lord has for me, through my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the church but I didn't realize that I needed the church in my life until my teenage years. There were times when church just didn't seem necessary in my life, I thought it wasn't for me. I was heading down a path and I found myself making decisions that hurt myself and hurt my family, I saw my own freedom being taken away from me. I knew I had to change my life. I finally decided to change what I was doing. As I started to read my scriptures daily, pray, and go to church, with a sincere desire to know if God had a path for me, and if he could improve my life. I found myself coming closer to God, and learning more about what I really need in life. My life started to change, for the better. I found God in my life, giving blessings upon blessings, my attitude started to change, I started to look more for opportunities to serve others and began to be more grateful for all that he does for me. I'm a Mormon because I know that the church is true and everything it teaches us brings us closer to God!

How I live my faith

I strive to live my faith by sharing what the gospel has given me with others! I am doing that right now by serving a full time mission in California. I look for the things in my life that God has blessed me with and sincerely thank him for them. I follow the commandments which God has given me in order to bless and protect me. In the LDS church we have a songbook called Hymns, in the Hymns (#136) it has the lyrics, "oh sweet the joy this sentence gives. I know that my redeemer lives!" I know without a doubt that this is true! I know that Jesus Christ is my redeemer, that he suffered for me, but also that he lives again.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Craig Harker
The church believes in the bible because it is the words of God written by prophets of God, it testifies of Jesus Christ, all of the prophets in the bible had faith in Jesus Christ, just as we do. The prophets of old knew that without Christ we would not be able to come back to God, our Heavenly Father. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Craig Harker
Without a doubt! I know that a prophet lives today! Just as God called prophets in times of old, he calls them again today. The name of the prophet who lives today is Thomas S. Monson, and he is a wonderful, happy old man! :) Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Craig Harker
There are many things that witness to me that there is a God. For example, I love mountains! I am from Utah and seeing the beautiful mountains from the valley floor gives me a sense of awe. Whenever I feel down or am having a hard time I look up to the sky and how beautiful it is, and then I think of how my Heavenly Father loves me; it helps me pick myself back up and know everything is alright. I see the beauty in life and I in turn give thanks to my Heavenly Father for those things. I believe that a tiny tiny portion of why there are mountains on the Earth is because Heavenly Father knew that having mountains would make Craig happy, and that goes the same for you too! No matter what it is that makes you happy, gives you peace, and helps get by day by day, I believe a portion of why God created that certain thing was because he knows you, and he knew you would enjoy it! I am grateful for a loving Heavenly Father who has given me all the things I have experienced in my life, both good and hard times. All the things that have happened to me in my life have helped me become who I am now. I still have a long way to go! A lot more things to experience! I'm not perfect by any means and still have a lot to learn, but I do know that there is a God. Show more Show less

Are there restrictions based on race or color concerning who can join The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and have the priesthood?

Craig Harker
There are no restrictions on who can join the Church of Jesus Christ. All worthy males may receive the priesthood. One thing that affirms this to me is the fact that we have the Book of Mormon. In the Book of Mormon it talks about the dealings of the people in the ancient Americas. Our Heavenly Father knew that there were "Other sheep which were not of this fold" and he knew that they would need the gospel of Jesus Christ, and he did give them this gospel. One verse that has helped me learn that the gospel is for all is found in the Book of Mormon, "For none of these iniquities come of the Lord; for he doeth that which is good among the children of men; and he doeth nothing save it be plain unto the children of men and he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God, both Jew and Gentile." (2nd Nephi26:33) The Gospel is for all, and all may come. Show more Show less
