Hi I'm Alexis K

I am from Louisiana. I attended BYU. I am now serving in the NYC South Mission and am on my way to Brazil!

About Me

Random things about me.... I like to step on acorns (i like the crunch under my feet). I enjoy walking by myself for hours at a time. I count the amount of steps I take. I have to walk equal amounts between cracks. I hate when I think about toes touching. I have to sleep on my own sheets... I hate hotels. I sleep without pillows. I Facebook stalk. Seriously its bad. I know tons of people that I have never even met. I eat a lot of sour cream... plain. I walk around with orange juice cartons. I have a weird obsession with hair. I say oh golly way to much. The first thing I notice about people is teeth. Sometimes Im just weird... But thats okay we all are. If you think you aren't... You're lying to yourself. lol “Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.” ― Dr. Seuss Im just like many people! I love life, meeting new people, and art!

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I Mormon? This is a question that I have been asked my whole life. I grew up in a town where my twin and I were the only members so my friends asked me this on a regular occasion. My faith has been questioned many times. I am Mormon because I know my Savior loves me, the Book of Mormon teaches me so. I love that our Gospel teaches us how to be strong through the help of our Savior. I know that through Him and His gospel I can move past any trial that comes my way. Through serving I have discovered this Gospel, and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I am Mormon, I love it, and I live it. I cannot wait to give up 18 months of my life to help others feel our Saviors love and warm embrace.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my everyday life. This summer I gave up most of my time teaching the youth of the church and of other faiths about how much He loves them at EFY. I look for ways to serve everyday to show the love that taught I about at EFY. I try to be an example to all my friends.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Alexis K
I am from Louisiana. While I was in seventh grade my town was hit by Hurricane Rita. Many homes were damaged not only but that hurricane but by Katrina. Our church set up efforts not only to help members but everyone in the town. One day we spent ours gutting out a house for a woman in a town we knew no one at. We wanted to spread the love of Christ to everyone. This charity is seen all over the world by Church Members. Show more Show less
