Hi I'm Charlene

I grew up in the suburbs. I cannot cook, but I sure can bake. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I was introduced into the acting world in high school and fell in love. I am currently going to school for secondary education. My dream job would be a High School Theatre Teacher. My favorite subject to study, other than theatre, is psychology. I played softball for 10 years and love the sport of it. I also love reading as well as crafting. I also love wakeboarding during the summer, although I am not very good. I work full-time at a bank as a teller and also open new accounts.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I grew up in the church, I was not actively involved with it. Through my teenage years, I started caring less and less about God and his plan for me. When I moved to a new ward that was in the same city, I met my soon-to-be best friend. She was my new ward's youth leader (Laurel's President) and reached out to me in friendship. It was never about getting me to church; it was about me. Through her love and example, she got me regularly attending weekly youth activities. I was then extended a calling-- hers. I was so grateful for this calling because I started attending church meetings every Sunday faithfully. Her mother was the President for the Young Women and her father became the bishop shortly after I started attending regularly. I am so grateful for her family and the loving kindness they extended to me in all my times of need. I could feel from them the unconditional love that my Savior has for me. I know that He loves me. I am a child of God and I know He has a plan for me. I know that when I pray, He can hear me and He answers me. I know that this church is God's church and it was restored through Joseph Smith. The Book of Mormon is God's teachings and is the most true book on the earth. I know that through Heavenly Father's plan, I can return to live with Him. I know that I can only do this because of Christ's sacrifice for me. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have been moving around a lot for school and work, so I have been attending many wards. My favorite calling that I have had in the last few years was a Visiting Teaching Superviser. My responsibility was to check with the sisters every month to see if they had visited with certain sisters that they had been assigned to within the ward, and had taught them the words of our prophets. Through this calling, as well as through attending weekly church meetings and religious institute classes, I prepared myself to be a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I cannot wait to teach those who are searching for the Gospel all I know to be true about our Savior, Jesus Christ. I am so blessed to have this opportunity.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

We encourage everyone to attend our meetings. In Doctrine & Covenants (what we believe to be the most recent word of God that we have on this earth) Section 46 Verse 3, it states "Nevertheless, ye are commanded never to cast any one out of your public meetings which are held before the world." Our Sacrament meeting is one of our most sacred meetings and the doors are open to all to come in. Partake in the sweet Spirit that can only be felt in these meetings. You will be welcomed with widely opened arms and broad smiles. God and all of the members of His church will be glad to have you join. Show more Show less
