Hi I'm Katie Hilton

I was a band geek in High School, I am a Navy brat, I attend Brigham Young University-Idaho, I love cookies, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

Since I was little, we have been a Navy family. We have lived in Los Angeles CA, Valencia CA, Monteray CA, Newport RI, and Chesapeake VA. I have one brother, one sister, and my Mom. My Dad passed away in 2004. I was in my High School's marching band for four years playing the trumpet. I became the section leader of the trumpet section my senior year. I am attending Brigham Young University-Idaho and majoring in Humanities. I love traveling to places and sharing experiences with others. My secret dream is to go backpacking in Europe and visit Scotland to play the bagpipes. I would also like to visit Ireland to learn more about my family history. I secretly love chocolate chip cookies and can proudly eat a whole batch. Oh, and Taco Bell is quite fantastic.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my Mom and Dad were Mormon, so they raised me in the church. Even though I was raised as a Mormon, I have my own conversion story where I realized on my own that I knew this church was true. I was only nine years old when my Dad passed away. I remember feeling very upset but also comforted because in our church I knew I would see my Dad again. Now as I look back, I knew that time was only bearable because of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I was actively part of the youth group in our church until I turned 18 and was called to become a teacher for the primary kids that are between the ages of six and seven. My first year at BYU-I, I was the first counselor in the Relief Society presidency and later a Sunday School teacher. In my second year at BYU-I, I was a Relief Society teacher. I try my best to follow the teachings of the scriptures and modern day prophets every day.
