Hi I'm Chaz Gonzales

I play the piano, I love to read, and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a runner, a film editor, a musician, and a college student. Sometimes my life gets pretty hectic with so many things going on in my life. I have lived in Texas, Washington, and Utah. I currently live in Utah studying in college.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I need guidance in my life. If I were not Mormon, I wouldn't have anyone to talk to, I wouldn't have answers to the fears and doubts in my life. In high school, I walk the hallways without speaking with anyone, and everyone speaks at me. I feel so alone, even as dozens of kids come up and say hi to me and I don't remember a single one of their names. I go home depressed, lonely, and confused. However, when I think of any possible answer, any solution to my tired and lonely trial, the concept that God is listening, He cares, and I can depend on Him for reassurance in some way, fills me with hope. I have not seen angels. I have not seen God's face. I am no more different than any other kid in high school, but then WHY DO I FEEL COMFORTED WHEN I PRAY TO MY HEAVENLY FATHER? I can't explain it, I can only tell you how I feel. I feel something when I read the Book of Mormon. It is a good feeling, a reassurance, a confirmation, it is peaceful. I don't have the answers to life, but I still find peace with the thought that God does, and He will show me what I need to know. I believe in a God. I know He is my Heavenly Father. He sent His Son to earth to atone for our sins and to free us from death. I am His son, and will return to live with Him after this life. I know the Spirit is real. It testifies of Christ right now. As you read this you KNOW this is true. That is the Spirit. When the Lord comes to collect His own, He will know my face and know whom I believe in. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I'm still a teenager so I don't have a calling. I have been asked to play the piano during one meeting where the men of my local congregation get together to discuss announcements. I play the prelude and the opening hymn. Beside that, I think an unspoken calling I have is to be other people's friends. I try and make other people feel welcomed and recognized while at church. Whenever I have a bad day, I believe I can change it to a good day by asking "What would Jesus do?" Christ is the ultimate example, and He can cheer you up every time, any time.
