Hi I'm Rhett Gibbs

I lived in New York serving the people there for two years, I now reside in Utah going to college. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am the youngest of 5 kids and an uncle to 3 nephews and 2 nieces. I am preparing to begin my life as a college student and considering a major in Statistics, but we'll see what happens. I love to read pretty much anything that finds its way in to my hands. I served as a missionary in New York and had the amazing opportunity to serve the wonderful people there. More recently I helped those in need during the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, and came to truly love the people there.

Why I am a Mormon

I was actually born into the church, for which I am eternally grateful because I'm not sure where I would be without the teachings of the church in my life as I grew up. However regardless of that fact every person needs to have their own testimony that what they're doing in the right thing, and not just doing it because it's what your parents had you do. I felt that I needed a testimony for myself and through the years I learned that the best way to do that was to simply read from the Book of Mormon ponder the message contained therein and pray to know from the one source of all truth: God. As I did so my answer didn't come the first time or even the second time, but as I stuck with it and kept reading and kept praying diligently I slowly came to realize that I knew that the Book of Mormon was true all along. Now because of that witness that I have, I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God called in our day to bring forth Christs Church just as it was setup by Christ himself.

How I live my faith

I live my faith to the best of my ability even though I am far from perfect. That's just part of the journey; learning from those mistakes that we make and becoming a better more Christlike person. I set aside two years after high school to pack up and leave to New York and help others to come unto Christ, and I found no greater joy than helping others to find the path back to God. I do my best to jump at any opportunity to serve others because I know that the only way in which we can be truly happy is to forget about ourselves and help out our brothers and sisters here.
