Hi I'm David Evans

I grew up in Utah. I am a musician and historian. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love camping and backpacking. I have summited King's Peak, which is the tallest mountain in Utah. I play the piano and percussion. I love playing jazz and classic rock on the piano. I love history, specifically American Civil War and World War II. I currently am studying History and French and I want to pursue a career in teaching.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and I really loved learning about the Gospel as a kid and as a younger man. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ! I have chosen to follow Him because of what His Atonement has done for me in my life. Christ lives! I am so grateful for Him and the role He has played in my life. The absolutely amazing thing about Jesus Christ, is that He loves us and He loved us first! His Atonement was a pure and selfless act that was completed because He understood our Heavenly Father's plan and Christ loved each of us as individuals enough to suffer and die for us. It is so amazing to think of this because of what He did for ME personally. I am not perfect and despite that, He loves me! I know His Atonement is real. I know Jesus Christ does live and that He did conquer death and sin so we could be made whole. This Gospel is true. I am so grateful that I have this time on earth to learn it and to grow. The Book of Mormon is the word of God. It is true. I know that it brings us closer to Christ because I have felt that in my own life. Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. He was the instrument by which this wonderful Gospel and Church were returned to the earth. That line of authority is unbroken through President Thomas S. Monson today. I know we have prophets on the earth today. Nevertheless, Jesus Christ is the foundation of my testimony! He lives! Our Father in Heaven lives and loves us enough to have sacrificed His only Begotten Son so we could have a chance to return to Him. I love my Savior!

How I live my faith

I served my mission in Paris, France and learned lessons there that were made possible through Christ and His restored Gospel. I now participate with the Young Single Adults in Cedar City, UT as I attend college and serve alongside other disciples of Christ. I love service and all of the projects and other teaching opportunities I had as a youth have really prepared me for this experience. I try to live my life in accordance with the Gospel at all times. I have served in various leadership positions in the youth organization and I have also served in various other callings leading up to my mission. This is such a great opportunity that I am very glad to be having.
