Hi I'm Veronica

I'm a writer, reader, storyteller, and Daughter of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Veronica! I'm number 5 of 6 daughters and was born and raised in the church. I moved a lot growing up and have lived in various places across the U.S. I love reading, writing, and watching Korean dramas. I'm studying English in the hopes of becoming a Young Adult writer. But now I'm taking a break to serve the Lord as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Colorado Colorado Springs Mission. I'm so excited to serve the Lord and share His gospel with the world! There's nothing better.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member, so I always had the gospel in my life. It never came into my life as something completely new, but even members need to be converted. I really felt my conversion story started after I turned 13. I went through a very difficult and dark time in my life at that point. I struggled with depression, low self-esteem, and making new friends. High school was an uphill battle the whole way. Through the counseling, the difficult transition from homeschooling to public high school, and the typical awkwardness/finding oneself that happens in high school, I found it incredible that God could love me, especially when I hated myself. But He did. Through that time I developed a closer relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I also developed a very personal understanding and testimony of the Atonement and its ability to change people from the better. I learned that change is always possible, and the hope that the gospel has given me is what has kept me going in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Peter said, "Lord, to whom shall we go? Thou has the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God." (John 6:68-69) And so it is with me. I'm a Mormon because this is Christ's church, and it is through Him that we can find Eternal Life.

How I live my faith

I've had a lot of callings in my wards. I've enjoyed working with the Primary children (ages 4-11), teaching Mission Preparation in a Student Ward, and (my personal favorite) serving as Ward Prayer Coordinator (planning and conducting a Sunday evening meeting for the members of my college Singles Ward). However, I think that the real meaning of living your faith lies outside of your callings. I try to live my faith by being as Christlike as I can with the people I come into contact with. I choose to be friends with those who may be friendless. I keep the commandments God has given me. I go to church, read the scriptures, dress and act like a daughter of God and a disciple of Christ should. A new opportunity I have to live my faith is to serve a mission and dedicate my time to sharing the gospel with others! Really, there is no better way to spend your time or effort than in the work of salvation. So how do I live my faith? Do it. Be it. Share it!
