Hi I'm Drake McFall

I grew up in Sandy, Utah. I play sports, and love everything outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a family of 5, and I am the youngest of three children. I also get to be the uncle to four of the best nephews you could find. I grew up playing all sports but mostly golf and basketball. I love to ski, mountain bike, hunt, fish, well really anything that takes me outdoors! I am currently serving a mission in the Edmonton, Alberta.

Why I am a Mormon

When I took the challenge to personally read the Book of Mormon and pray about it to receive my own answer, I began to then see what a difference it truly makes in all aspects of life. There are many good things in life, but they tend to come and go. The feelings you get from being a part of the restored church of Jesus Christ, gives you peace, hope, and joy that is irreplaceable and never-ending. In a world of inconsistencies, I found something to be constant and reliable. The perspectives I have received because of my beliefs in this church have helped me become a better son, brother, uncle, and friend to those that I love in my life.

How I live my faith

The way that I show my faith the most is by the way I live my life from day to day. I strive each day to help, love, and serve as Christ would. I try to show by my actions the happiness the gospel has brought into my life along with the peace it gives me amid all of life's hardships and trials. There are so many times when you can take the "easy way out", which commonly causes you to compromise your standards or beliefs. I know that as I stand up for what is good and true, regardless of circumstances, I am then a living witness of my faith by word and deed. In addition, I am currently serving a mission for The Church in Edmonton, Alberta. This gives me yet another way to share how the gospel has blessed my life.

In whom should we have faith?

Drake McFall
Paul in writing to the Hebrews said, "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith:” This is what we believe as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We look to Christ who is the Savior and Redeemer of all mankind. We believe that He was, He is, and that He is to be forever. Also have faith in God, our Heavenly Father, who gave us His son as the ultimate showing of His love. Too add to what has been taught by Paul in the book of Acts, the Book of Mormon states in Mosiah 3:17, "And moreover, I say unto you, that there shall be no other name given nor any other way nor means whereby salvation can come unto the children of men, only in and through the name of Christ, the Lord Omnipotent." This faith is a transforming power that not only changes our thoughts, but as written in by Paul to the Corinthians, we are a "new creature" transformed into something much more. Show more Show less

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Drake McFall
First it begins with the understanding that truly God is our Father in Heaven. He is not an unknowable, unimaginable, inconceivable idea. But rather he is a glorified, embodied being, someone that is absolutely real. With this knowledge it helps us understand that we can simply talk to him. Think for a minute, if there really was a God who is proclaimed to love you and care for you, do you think He would want to talk to you? Do you think He would want you to know who He is? If you have that desire, experiment with prayer, ask Him if He is there, and then wait to feel the goodness overwhelm you. As you begin to feel the goodness, you will begin to believe. The process of knowing Him comes through time, as we learn the doctrines and apply them in our lives. Additionally, if you wanted to know about a historical figure or athlete, you would go read their biography. Fortunately scripture can act as a sort of biography for God. As we read of how he deals with His children(us), and what He has done all throughout time we can then further come to know who God is to us personally. Show more Show less
