Hi I'm Marlon

I grew up all over the world, but I came to know what a Mormon is in japan. I also served a mission in Spanish.

About Me

I enjoy many things in life such as teaching about my life's experiences and things I have learned through the years since being a part of the LDS church. I am currently serving in the US Air Force to serve both my country and the people I love and care for. I also have time and experience with college, but I am still pursuing a degree, hopefully in Linguistics! I speak 3 languages also. At current i fluently speak, read, and write in English, Tagalog, and Spanish. English and Tagalog were learned at home, but Spanish was from the 2 years I spent serving the Hispanic populous in the northern California region of the United States. The best 2 years of my life were spent serving the Hispanic people!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I learned about the church through my own curiosity to get to know the story of Jesus Christ and why we need the Book of Mormon. Of the many things i have seen, heard, and learned have been all and then more than what I expected to have gained, and all of it was well worth it. Many speculate that the life of a Mormon is not free to live happily, i have had nothing but more happy times in my life than those that i would have had otherwise. My decision to become a part of this church has paid itself more times than I have the capacity to place a number for. Being a Mormon has made my life feel free and full of joy. Even in my relationship with family, life since my membership with this church has made my family relationship great and more happy than it was prior to. I have learned the purposes and essential roles each member plays in a family, and this has helped even my family to live accordingly and more unitedly in all matters of life. Truly i can say there is love at home.

How I live my faith

Regardless that I am no longer actively serving a mission full time, my time is still fully engaged in doing what I can to help and teach people about my faith. Our faith is not learned overnight, but we grow in faith and learn together through fellowship and serving with and to one another. Being a part of this church, you are not just a member of a church, but a member of a very large family!

What is the Book of Mormon?

The Book of Mormon to me is a compilation of witnesses and others who like those in the Holy Bible have a record of their dealings with, God and the Savior, Jesus Christ. This volume of records or accounts from ancient people who journeyed to and lived in the American Continents (not just the USA alone) that worshiped and followed the same Deity as is found on the other half of the world consecutively at the same time as other records in the Bible give account for in dealing with God. To have voices telling testimonies about, Jesus Christ on both sides of the world gives further insight into the depth of our Savior's love for mankind. And how we are not left to live life never knowing who He is and what He has done for us all. The testimonies learned from the Book of Mormon give echo to the many testimonies of Christ in the pages of the Bible and its prophets. Indeed the Book of Mormon solidifies the truthfulness of the Bible, but is not meant to replace or add unnecessary words into the Bible. Its purpose is to give aid and a sense of secure clarity about the gospel of Christ and all that it has to do in relation to us, our families, our past, present, and future life, and much more. The impact this one compilation of books can do for us all is truly beyond measure. Knowing this along with what one may learn from the words contained within the, Book of Mormon are sufficient to offer one a chance to live more happily in life and overcome struggles in any time of life.
