Hi I'm Melinda

I was born in Utah, but raised in beautiful Brazil. I am, and always have been, a Mormon. :)

About Me

I'm currently a graduate student, working in the field of research. I'm blessed with a loving family and amazing friends, all which contribute to my happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of the church ever since I can remember. My parents were first converted when they were younger, so I was already raised in the Church. However, as I grew up, I learned the importance of seeking answers for myself. I started reading the Book of Mormon every day, and I prayed every night to Heavenly Father because I wanted a confirmation that all those teachings were true. I started pondering about what were my motivations for staying faithful to the Church and its principles. After some time, I realized I had this wonderful feeling in my heart - a feeling that eliminated every doubt about the truthfulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon is true. Our Heavenly Father lives, and He loves us. I put Moroni's promise to the test - I read the scriptures, pondered about them, and asked for a confirmation in prayer. I got my answer :)

How I live my faith

Every Sunday, I teach the primary kids (ages 3-11). Sometimes, I give them the lesson for that Sunday, sometimes I teach them new songs; no matter what I'm doing, I feel like I'm always the one being taught. My main goal is to teach them that their Heavenly Father loves them, and will always be there for them. As for the older ones, I try to help them seek a testimony of their own (their own confirmation of the truthfulness of the Gospel), by personal study and prayer.
