Hi I'm Alicia

I'm a missionary! I love my family! I love being outside! I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a family of ten and they mean everything to me! I absolutely love my family! My favorite thing is to spend time with them, especially with my nieces and nephews. I love to laugh and just have fun! I love working hard with my family and creating that bond with them. I love being outside hiking, horseback riding, and four wheeling. It reminds me of how grateful I am for the beautiful world that our Heavenly Father has created for each of us. I am studying Child Development at Brigham Young University - Idaho. Right now I am serving as a missionary in the Tennessee Knoxville Mission and can't imagine my life without this incredible opportunity. I've come to realize even more about my true identity as a child of my Heavenly Father and I want everyone to have the joy that this knowledge brings! I love being able to share my faith and my testimony with others because my faith in Jesus Christ is the most important thing in my life. I have come to find such joy and peace as I've come to know, love and trust my Savior and I want to share that with as many people as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because my faith teaches me that families are eternal. My family is the most important thing in my life. It also teaches me that I am a daughter of God. He knows me and He loves me personally. I can return to live with Him through the atonement of my Savior Jesus Christ. Being a member of this church helps me to find answers to my deepest questions and shows me how to have a personal relationship with Heavenly Father. It brings me so much peace and joy as I live the teachings in the Bible, Book of Mormon and the words of modern prophets. I have a sense of direction. I know my end goal. I know that my Redeemer lives! I gained a testimony of the Book of Mormon from a very young age. My parents did an excellent job of teaching me the scriptures. My testimony of the Book of Mormon came in part by my parent's effort to read the scriptures each night as a family. They taugh us not only through reading but through acting out scripture stories and helping us apply it to our lives. I began to realize that my Heavenly Father speaks to us through the scriptures and my testimony began to grow. Through prayer and study on my own I gained a firmer conviction and love for the Book of Mormon. I know that it is true.

How I live my faith

I have volunteered as a Sunday school teacher for adults and children. I participate in researching about my ancestors and have helped others learn to do this as well. I absolutely love serving a mission. I'm learning more about my faith as I live it on a deeper level and share it with others. I absolutely love the temple and participating in the secred work that goes on there. One of the simplest ways I like to live the gospel is just to be happy and be that example to others. I'm definitely not perfect and sometimes we all have rough days, but because of the gospel, at the end of the day we can always smile because we know that our Savior loves us and if we do our part, all will be well one day. I love the knowledge that the Plan of Happiness gives to us. I think one of the best ways to share that plan is to simply be happy! I love being able to be happy and encouraging to lift those around me and bring them closer to their Savior.
