Hi I'm Phillip

I live in Las Vegas and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a loving family where I was taught that we are all equal and we all come from a loving Heavenly Father. I care about people. I try to help those around me when I can. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and learning about the world in which I live. I play the guitar and sing. I enjoy philosophy, science, music, religion, and business. I have a wonderful wife who helps me grow personally, and spiritually. My dog's name is Paco and he's a Puggle. I have been blessed with a wonderful family, friends, and secular and religious education.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have felt that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church. I was concerned for the well-being of my soul. I studied it with an open heart, mind and a willingness to learn new things I did not know or understand. When I do that, the Spirit enters my heart and mind I just FEEL it to be right. Going on a mission and seeing others have the same experiences only confirms my own testimony.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the Church all my life. I have always known that the Church is true. When you are doing what's right, you can just feel that the church is true. When I am not doing what is right, I don't get that feeling. I have had trials, up's and down's that have taught me valuable lessons about myself and life. I have learned a lot about religion, church, God, and Jesus Christ is the center of it all. I try to live each day as the Savior would like. The key is to try each day a little more to be kinder, nicer, more humble, and have more patience.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Phillip
We serve because we want others to know what we have come to know, that Jesus is the Christ, that there is hope in this life and the life to come. There are answers to life's questions! I read an experience that George Albert Smith had and I feel exactly the same way as he did. He said, "We are asking all you fine people over here to keep all the glorious truths that you have acquired in your churches, that you have absorbed from your scriptures, keep all that, keep all the fine training that you have received in your educational institutions, all the knowledge and truth that you have gained from every source, keep everything that is good in your character that has come to you as a result of your lovely home; keep all the love and the beauty that is in your heart from having lived in so beautiful and wonderful a land. … That is all a part of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then let us sit down and share with you some of the things that have not yet come into your lives that have enriched our lives and made us happy." This is we proselyte. There are so many wonderful truths that people just don't know about that bring solace, peace, and comfort to the soul and enrich our lives. Why not share the cake? Show more Show less
