Hi I'm Garth Crane

I was born and raised in Rupert, Idaho; I grew up on a potato farm. I love sports and being outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student studying Healthcare Administration. I am married to a wonderful woman, and together we love to learn. I love doing all things outdoors; camping, hiking, rock climbing, rappelling, traveling, etc. I love being out in God's great creations and seeing just how much He has done for me. I love learning and finding moments in everyday life that allow me to recognize and discover how the Gospel of Jesus Christ applies to my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that are found in the teachings we receive. I have come to learn for myself through study, prayer, and constant pondering that through faith in Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for me, I can repent and become clean of my sins and mistakes. Through special ordinances such as baptism, I can feel His love and I can feel His spirit, the Holy Ghost, to help me through my life. I know that He lives and loves me, and I have chosen this path for me because it gives me all the tools and ways to be able to build my relationship with my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. Through special covenants, or promises, I can come to understand the love God has for me, and I can demonstrate my love for Him through following His commandments. I can learn how to become like Christ through the words of prophets who have been called of God to speak to His people. This allows me to be my best self, although I am not perfect, I know that through Christ, I can become better and better everyday.

How I live my faith

I was just called to serve as assistant ward clerk in my ward and I love being able to meet new people and help make them feel welcome in the ward. It is my responsibility to assure that every member in our ward boundaries is accounted for and they can have a 'family' to belong to. Because I am in a college ward, there are many students and their spouses, and there can be a lot of turnover, and it could be easy to lose track of their records, but I know that God knows each of us, and we are each important to Him, and He wants us to feel His love wherever we attend church around the world. I want to make sure that they feel that love, and I help the leaders of our ward to be aware of these things so everyone can have a sense of belonging. I like to find uplifting items on the internet and share them on various social media sites. Those videos and articles that can lift and elevate people's awareness of Christ and His love for each of us. I know that He is the key for us to be truly happy.
