Hi I'm McKay Phippen

I'm a retired businessman currently serving a mission with my wife in Mesa, AZ.

About Me

My wife and I have spent most of our married life raising our family in the Holladay area of Salt Lake City, UT. At present we are serving a couples mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in the Arizona Mesa Mission. We are enjoying it very much. The people we have met here are wonderful. I was born in a small farming town in Albion Idaho, USA. But I spent most of my childhood growing up in Logan, Utah, and as a teenager in the Salt Lake area. I am the seventh of eight children. My wife and I have been married for sixty-one years and have raised eight children. We now have thirty-one grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. As a family we enjoy life and being together. We have learned from experience the benefits of hard work and playtime together. We enjoy being supportive of each other as a family and support our neighbors and friends as they participate in their life experiences. “ We have not been blessed with everything, but we have earnestly tried to make the best of everything that has come our way.” We also have learned that from tough times we gain valuable experience. This has made us more understanding, helpful, and patient with not only our family but with all people.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I love my Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. I am so grateful for His teachings and the way He has directed my life. I know that He loves me and all of His children and knows us personally. I am a Mormon because I was raised in a good and loving home with two wonderful parents and great brother and sisters. I was taught by example what it means to be a Mormon and the responsibilities that go with it.

How I live my faith

I sincerely try to live my life each day to reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ. I love His church, the people and the many opportunities it has provided for me to learn and grow. It has taught me how to serve and be served. I understand God’s plan for happiness and am willing to share that plan with anyone and everyone. I strive to teach my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the peace, joy, and happiness it brings to us in this life as well as throughout eternity. God’s plan IS the plan of happiness!
