Hi I'm Sarah

I love taking pictures. I love to travel. I love to laugh. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young married daughter of God. I am grateful for the blessed life I have been given. I love to take pictures, and capture beautiful moments of life. I love to read books, and watch movies. I am currently a student at a college in Vancouver. My days consist of a lot of reading textbooks. I love happy simple things in life, and my friends and family. I love Jesus Christ and his gospel. I love going to church every Sunday.

Why I am a Mormon

I was a Mormon straight from birth. My parents were in the church and before them my grandparents were converted by missionaries. I was a child so I went to church with my family. But there comes a time as you get older where you make your own decision on why you keep going to church. I continued to faithfully go to church. I gained my own testimony of the church by lots of prayer, and faith, and trying to see for myself if it was true. I felt good when I went to church, and realized the difference the feeling of the world gave me, and the feeling I got from the spirit. I love this gospel and I love that I can be a member of this church. It is the most important thing to me. I know no matter where I go, or who I become, Heavenly Father will always be there looking out for me, and I hope I can be a good example to those around me. Most importantly I am grateful that we believe in eternal families. I know I can be with my family and husband not only in this life, but in the next life. I know the Saviour has suffered for my sins, and that he has felt my sadness, and felt my afflictions.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to live the teachings of Jesus Christ and constantly making myself better and worthy to live the standards which I have been taught. I actively go to church every Sunday, and try and be a good participant in lessons, and eagerly listen to what I am being taught. . I also try and pray everyday, a couple times a day, and read my scriptures, or words from the modern day prophets. It helps me to remember where I come from, and why I am here, and what I want to accomplish. I am grateful for those teachings, for they make me a better person.

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Sarah
Yes we do! We have the Book of Mormon, but we still use the Bible very much. The Bible and Book of Mormon go hand in hand. Mormons love the Bible. There are many stories in the bible that we use in our teachings. There is so much in the bible that talks about Christ. And as Mormons, who are also Christians we very much believe in Christ and in his teachings. The Bible, as well as the Book of Mormon are words of God. Written by prophets with inspiration from God the Eternal Father. Show more Show less

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Sarah
We believe that human life is so special, and we have been sent to this earth to receive a body. Sometimes there are mistakes made, and pregnancies happen, but we encourage a young woman if she finds herself single, or young, or not wanting to be a mother to give up her child for adoption so the many couples in the world who cant have children have an opportunity to raise one in this life. Abortion is killing a human life, and unless prescribed by a medical doctor that the baby will kill the mother, or not survive the pregnancy it is alright, but also with proper prayer and counsel. Also if a girl is raped and it is emotionally scarring abortions are ok. Again also we believe they should really pray about it, and counsel with someone of authority. Show more Show less
