Hi I'm John Milnes

I Live in Wakefield and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently dating another LDS lady and we are very close. It helps when dating some-one that you have common beliefs with. I have been a member now for 13 years, since Feb '99. Life has not been easy as the only member of my family to be in the Church, but I would not change it for the world. I served a mission for the Church at the at age 26. The UK was then split up in to 8 missions. I served in the England London South Mission, which covered from as far as Bristol to the Reading, to the most of the area below the river Thames. When I came home from my mission, my family was not very supportive, also, my father died not longer thereafter. If it was not for my faith, I would have struggled to come to terms with this loss.

Why I am a Mormon

The Plan of Salvation, of where we came from, why we are here, and what happens to us when we die are the most frequently asked questions by those of not of our faith. I have lost both my mother and father at a young age. Through studying the scriptures and learning of Heavenly Fathers divine plan. We can learn what we need to do to return to our Heavenly Father. The role of the Saviour in that Plan is central to all that we believe in. If is for this reason for, is part of why I became a Mormon. The Saviour said, "...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6) The Father's Plan of Salvation teaches us just how important the Saviour is in this Heavenly plan.

How I live my faith

I read my scriptures almost on a daily basis and say my prayers each day. This helps to strengthen our faith in the Saviour. The Book of Mormon helps to testify of those who lived on the American continent many years ago, before Columbus found it. With out some of the basic truths we hold dear, mankind would still be wondering what the questions are to lifes most difficult questions. I am glad to say, that through living my faith, it helps to explain these precious truths to others.
