Hi I'm Zachary

I grew up in Utah. I served an LDS mission in Medellin, Colombia. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm currently studying in Brigham Young University to become an astronomer. I love building models and I a fan of soccer.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church to parents that are very active in it. But it took me a while to have a testimony of my own. They told me many times that you can only go so far on someone elses beliefs. When I was 19 years old, I had the desire to know if this really was the true chuch or not. So I started to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it. My answer didn't come right away. But my diligence and patience finally paid of when I got that wonderfull feeling, one that is hard to describe in writting, and knew by the power of the Holy Ghost that these are true. That's what impulsed me to serve the mission. How can I know that these things are true and know the many blessing that I'll recieve because of them, and not share them with others? I couldn't let the opportunity pass by to teach the gospel to others. Why am I a Mormon? Because I know that God lives. That he sent his son Jesus Christ to the world to suffer for our sins. I know that through his sacrafice we are healed of our sins and in him we can find peace and rest. I know that Christ restored his church today through the Prophet Joseph Smith, and that the evidence of all of this is the Book of Mormon. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I love the gospel. I was in a foreign country (Colombia) for two years teaching it to the people over there. It was a very hard but also a very rewarding experience. I will never be able to forget all of the neat experiences and all of the people that I met. The mission helped me gain a greater love for my Heavenly Father. I now undestand better what he has in store for me.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

We teach the gospel because we feel the need to do so. I personally can't think of the blessings that I recieve without thinking of the many blessings that others don't recieve because they don't know the gospel. That's why we do it, so that everyone may recieve their blessings from God and feel the peace and security that comes from living the Gospel. Show more Show less
