Hi I'm John Cherrington

I grew up in Utah, and also spent three years in Japan. I play many sports, am an Eagle Scout, and a Mormon!

About Me

I love playing sports, of just about any kind! I especially love to play baseball, but I think just about all sports are great. During the winter I love to ski, and go skiing as often as I can. I like to read, especially books about the gospel like President Monson's Biography. I just got done with my first semester of College, and enjoyed it very much! I am an Eagle Scout, and earned my Duty to God award. I love to talk with people, and to share experiences of life with others and to learn of their experiences. I love creating things, whether it be music, cities, legos, rollercoasters, trains, or anything! I very much enjoy playing the piano, and listening to music in general. In all, I enjoy doing just about anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know this Church is the true Church. Sometimes the Church standards are hard to live, but the joy and the blessings that come from living these standards, and knowing of Jesus Christ, and his love for us, is too much joy to deny. It is hard, but it is worth it. It is truth, and I cannot lie against it. I know the Church is true and I love living the gospel. I know of Heavenly Father's love for me, and I know that we have a true Prophet on the Earth today in President Thomas S. Monson. How great it is that we have a Prophet to look to for guidance in our daily lives! This Church is the True Church on the Earth today. I know it, and therefore I live it, and thus, I love it. And I cannot deny it. That is why I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. That is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by starting and closing every day with a prayer and scripture study, and strive to live the standards of the Church by exactness everyday. I attend Church every week, and faithfully attend my institute classes. I try my best to be a good example to those around me. I take opportunities to learn from those who are examples to me. I do my best to remember and be like Christ in my day to day activities. Part of being faithful is fulfilling, and magnifying the callings which I've been called to. At the moment, I am what is called a Ward Missionary in my Young Single Adult Ward, and am doing my best to fellowship those in my ward area who are not of this faith or have for some reason fallen inactive, back into the church and actively attending. I lend my talents that I have been blessed with on the piano freely to contribute to the Hymns sung throughout my Sunday meetings. I am a Hometeacher, and therefore faithfully share a gospel message and check up on the lives of those whom I am assigned personally, and strive to do this monthly without fail. In the very near future, by January 9th, I will be on my mission, and devoting my whole life to the Lord for a period of two years. I will share the gospel the best I can with the wonderful people of Fukuoka, Japan. I love this Church, the message and truth it shares, and I know of it's truth with assurity in my testimony.
