Hi I'm Mardi

I grew up in Utah. I love singing, acting, smiling, cooking, and helping those around me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love singing, acting, cooking, smiling, helping others feel good. I am going to college at USU. I have volunteered with CAPSA, and the Red Cross as well. I love the theater and being able to explore other point of views. I love hiking, swimming, biking, and walking.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but I would have joined if I had not. My mother was a convert to the Mormon faith, and my dad grew up in the church as well. When I was 13 my brother and myself were involved in a car accident with some of our friends. From injuries sustained in the car wreak, my brother AJ passed away. That trial has helped solidify my faith in this gospel, and my knowledge of it as well. It helped me understand where people go after they die, that we do not just die, there is an after life and it is in this life where we prove ourselves to Heavenly Father, and even after all we have done, it may not be perfect but God in his everlasting mercy, he sent His Son to die for us and atone for our sins that we would commit in this life, thus granting us the opportunity to return with them again. I am so grateful for the trials that I have had in my young life, they have shown me the light in the darkness, the peace during the storm, and the love in the middle of sadness, anger, and hurt. This is a beautiful gospel, for it is complete all questions are answered, and the ones that aren't answered right this moment will be in the future. We have a loving Heavenly Father who cares deeply for us, and a Savior who paid the price for each one of us. Each of us has the opportunity to return with Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father, and all our family members again if we have faith believing on the name of Jesus Christ, and doing our best to follow the Lord's commandments for us. This is why I'm a Mormon. It gives me hope in the past, present, and the future. I look forward to the day that I will see my brother, my family that have passed on, my friends now, and all those who I care so deeply about. The love we have for family is only a drop in the ocean compared to the love that Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father have for us. We can return. We can go through hard things, and learn something that will help us become like them, to be able to live with them again. I know this!

How I live my faith

I am involved with a group of women and go to classes with them on Sunday as well as activities during the week. I also love to help my friends with whatever I can.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

It is important to me especially since I have family members who aren't members, or those who have passed on without being able to accept the gospel. We do baptisms for the dead to give those who have passed on an option of accepting the gospel in the next life. It is still their choice whether they want to or not, we simply do baptisms by proxy so that they can have the opportunity to follow in Christ's footsteps. Show more Show less
