Hi I'm Marta Mixa

I grew up in San Salvador, El Salvador. I joined the LDS church my first year of college in Los Altos, California.

About Me

I'm married and a mother of four children. My family is very precious to me and I do my best to keep a close-knit relationship with them. I currently teach 4th grade at a suburban elementary school. I'm in a graduate program to finish my principalship certification. I love teaching children and someday I want to lead a school as an administrator. One of my hobbies is running. I'm a member of a running club and we train for marathons and half-marathons. I like being part of a team and enjoy getting to know people from various backgrounds. Friends are very important to me. I go out of my way to meet new people.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church as a young adult in college. The other young adults I met were a great example to me. I was introduced to the church in the summer and I was baptized in September of the same year. The missionaries referred to me as a "golden contact." My testimony has grown tremendously. I know that Jesus is the living Christ. We can be forgiven of our wrongs and be whole again because of His atonement. I have experienced this amazing miracle in my own life. Our Father in Heaven is a merciful father and He has not left us alone. He has provided for you and me with the companionship of the Holy Ghost to guide us and protect us. I have also experienced this precious gift in my life many times. I have received confirmation through prayers that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true.

How I live my faith

I have been a member of the church for quite some time and I have had opportunities to serve in different capacities. I was given an assignment to serve as the Stake Young Women's Camp Director. I love working with the youth of the church! They have an amazing testimony of Jesus Christ and it helps to strengthen mine.
