Hi I'm Kayla Marshall

I grew up in Southern California. I’m the oldest of 4 girls. I just finished my third semester at CSUSM. I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I am a sister, daughter, missionary, and most importantly a daughter of God. I am the oldest of four girls and we are a military family. My dad left for Afghanistan the same week I reported for my mission. I am a Literature and Writing major and I hope to become a high school English teacher. I love music; it is in every aspect of my life. I began playing violin in the sixth grade and I have been playing ever since. Even though I am no longer playing in an orchestra I do still play in church occasionally. I love singing in the ward choir and the spirit it brings into Sacrament meeting.

Why I am a Mormon

It would be easy to say that I am a member because my parents are, but, that’s not the case. My testimony has grown for itself since I was 15. I decided to take the challenge found at the end of The Book of Mormon and to pray to Heavenly Father with sincerity to know if the church is true. Since that day, I have found God's hand in the little things in my life. I read The Book of Mormon for myself and I cannot deny it's thruthfulness. I know that I am a Daughter of a loving Heavenly Father and having that knowledge makes living all the better, even in times of struggle. I love this gospel and my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and His atoning sacrifice for me. I'm a Mormon because it brings immense happiness to my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the simplest things. The gospel is simple, it is not complicated. I read my scriptures, pray, attend church meetings and visit the temple often. We can live our faith by preaching the gospel without speaking a word. The easiest way to show your faith is to live your faith. Wear it in your countenance. Smile at strangers, be polite, live a Christ-like life. I live my faith by doing these things. Being a missionary is the best calling there is. The ability I have to bring the gospel to others and to bring them closer to the Savior is the most fulfilling feeling I have ever experienced.
