Hi I'm Brendon King

I'm a writer, a basketball player, a technology fanatic and I am serving in Monterrey Mexico for two years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live with my parents and a really abnoxious brother, all of which I love dearly. I was recently called to serve as a Missionary in the area of Monterrey in Mexico. After I am finished serving my two years I will persue my studies at BYU Provo and either major in Biochemistry or Broadcast Engineering (polar opposites, I know.) For years I have been the Editor in Chief of the High School television show and have enjoyed every second of it. When I'm not doing that I am either in the gym, working on my game or I'm dismantling something old and nerdy because I want to see what it does.

Why I am a Mormon

I've been a member of this church since the beginning of time... at least mine. I decided to go on a mission to help those who need another pair of hands while also spreading the good word in the process. I am a good person, but have been known to make mistakes from time to time, just like anyone else. I know that the Atonement gives us a chance to make up for our mistakes and I know that this church is the true church on the Earth today. I have had the chance to see broken homes become strong, weary heads become hopeful and many other miracles that one only sees through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have seen the Book of Mormon and its teaching touch the hearts of thousands of individuals and work miracles in the lives of many more. I want everyone to have the chance to pick up a copy of that work and just read a chapter or two, and I promise that you will receive the same excitement and joy that I have had upon reading the scriptures. One of my favorite scriptures comes in the Book of Alma, chapter 26 verse 12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.

How I live my faith

I am currently a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (or the Mormons, como quiera). I help others learn about Christ and how it is possible to achieve an Eternal Family, through Faith in Christ and Obedience to His commandments, repentence, baptism through the proper Priesthood authority found here on Earth, and enduring to end and staying faithful to His teachings. I have found a great joy in helping others receive these blessings and in turn have found my own life blessed upon seeing the progress of Our Heavenly Father's children.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Brendon King
For Mormons... Family is everything. It's the reason why we're here, it's the reason why God even bothered creating His Plan for us. We are his children and families are the basic unit of life. They're ordained of Him so that we have a support here in this life, and a place to grow and learn as we go through the difficulties of day to day tasks. The reason we grow close together as human biengs is so that one day we too can have our own families and help others receive this same joy. The family has the capability of being sealed together for time and all eternity, something that many other cultures or people cannot even begin to understand. What's the point of learning to live with other people and enjoying those simple moments together if, at the end, we are all consigned to our own little worlds isolated from everyone else? That's not logical, and that's definitely NOT what God wants us to do. The Family is Everything. Show more Show less
