Hi I'm Justin

I am a musician. I am a SCUBA and skydiver, a rock climber, a hunter and fisher. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a musician and a composer, and play instruments like the bassoon, saxophone, clarinet, drum set, and a little piano and trumpet. My favorite things to do are fire starting, SCUBA diving, hunting, fishing, spearfishing, rock climbing, and pretty much anything outdoors! Currently I go to BYU-Hawaii, working on a biochemistry major and a music minor, and will hopefully become an ER surgeon in a few years. I'm a little shy but love getting to know people and hearing cool stories that inspire me to try something new!

Why I am a Mormon

Many years ago, I was baptized into the church. I didn't know then exactly why I was doing it other than it felt right. Later in life I learned of some of my ancestors. One of them suffered the cruel crossing of the winter plains after immigrating from England. At least two of them helped re-organize the church and became leaders in it, suffering even worse persecution than the pioneer, including wrongful imprisonment to say the least. One of them, as a young child, watched their father be tortured to death, only to have to hide from even the government to avoid a similar fate and then leave all possessions and walk for several months through the bitterest of the winter months without shoes or proper warm clothing with their now widowed mother and five younger children. All of these hardships because they wouldn't deny or disobey the truths they know. After learning about this, I took it on myself to learn if they suffered for nothing, or if the gospel really is true. I have found no greater peace in my soul throughout life than the assurance that they were right; no greater joy than the feeling the love of my Father in Heaven, and seeing others as they come to know, accept, and return that love; no greater surety that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is His church on this earth.

How I live my faith

My life is centered around my faith in Christ. Everything I do, have done, or plan on doing is focused on how I can best serve the Lord and our celestial Father in Heaven. I have to privilege of teaching the gospel to other students my age on the campus of BYUH as well as getting to know them better and serve them as best I can when they need help.
