Hi I'm Mariela

I was born in Uruguay, ten years of my life took place in Sydney Australia.I'm an ex-missionary,wife,mother and teacher.

About Me

Ever so grateful to the missionaries that brought the true gospel of Jesus Christ into my life.Served a mission in Argentina Buenos Aires South 1991-1992.Married in1993 to Cesar from Peru,ex-missionary from Spain.Currently have 2 teenage boys and a 7 year old girl. Our second son is a kidney transplant patient whose quality of life has been greatly blessed when our whole family immigrated to the United States. Our family has undergone many different trails and I need to say I am grateful for them because I was given the knowledge through the gospel of Jesus Christ ,to face each problem in life as an opportunity to grow an develop a more Christ like character.I lived the first 5 years of my life in Uruguay where I was born.I then immigrated to Australia with my family and spent the next 10 years of my life.I remember it was a challenge for me adapting to a new culture, language and feeling left out or rejected because of the differences but I can look back now and see it was also a blessing.I find that I am more understanding to differences,I'm able to speak a second language fluently and I can adapt to changes more easily.I enjoy singing, dancing, acting, organizing events, reading good books and helping out in any way I can, it brings happiness to my soul.

Why I am a Mormon

I've slowly gained my testimony through obedience to the word of God.Every time I was determined to apply a gospel principle to myself I gained more knowledge of the truth. It is no longer about what someone else had told me but what I have come to know through personal experience.

How I live my faith

I realize that once I joined the LDS church along with my family, the desire to change for the better grew slowly within me.Each time I strived to live a gospel principle ,obstacles arise but I have come to understand that is the way I strengthen my testimony and faith.Through the opportunities to serve in church callings and activities I have overcame weaknesses and developed strength I didn't know I had.
