Hi I'm German Hortal

I'm from Mar del Plata, Argentina. I live in Provo Utah, I am a month away from going on a mission and I'm a mormon

About Me

I am an 18 year old kid. I love sports. I highly enjoy watching soccer games with my father and football games with my best friend. I have gone to one semester of college thanks to a scholarship I received. I am now preparing to go and serve the lord for two years. I have a full time job at a travel agency and I love it. Upon return from my mission I plan on going to BYU and study Broadcast Journalism. It is my passion. I love being around people and getting to meet new people. I highly dislike being alone, I can never stop talking so I feel like I need someone there to talk to 24/7.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church. Since I was a child I can remember going to church and learning about the gospel. As a teenager I continued going to church but I began to fall away from the lord. I would go to church but not pay attention and I would do things out of church that weren't the best things a teenager could be doing. Then one day I got a very very strong feeling that I had to change and repent. I tried my best and I began to repent. It was not easy at all. It was one of the hardest things I could have done. But, after so time I got a feeling that my heavenly father had forgiven me. It was the most wonderful feeling I had ever had in my life. My life has improved 1000 times compared to what I used to be. I am much happier, I constantly feel the lords influence on me, I have been granted more opportunities in life, and I am now ready to serve the lord on a full time mission. I know that this church is the true church, that Jesus the Son of God died for me and through his sacrifice I have the opportunity to repent and some day go back to my heavenly father and mother. I know that Joseph Smith translated the Book of Mormon with the help of the holy spirit and that he was a Prophet of the lord. I also know that today in day Thomas S. Monson has been called by God to guild us in these latter days, and I fully support him and love him. I love this church and I love my Heavenly Father. I know these things and I testify them in the name of Jesus Christ my Savior, Amen

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to participate in everything I possibly can. I received my first calling at the age of 9 years old. I was called to be the ward assistant librarian. I loved it. Since then I have always had a calling in the church. I have been the deacon quorum president, teachers quorum president, first assistant to the bishop, on stake youth committee, I have recently been the elders quorum (men 18+) secretary. I currently am the Sunday school (in the second hour of our meeting we have Sunday school, during this hour the classes are split up by age and doctrine is taught.) secretary and a ward missionary. I love having callings in the church due to the fact that they keep me busy and I get the feeling that I am helping the lord fulfill his work. That I am an instrument in his hands.
