Hi I'm Megan Nielsen

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 20 years young and about to serve a mission in the beautiful land of New Zealand! I love big families and am the youngest in my family of 8. I was born in the freezing cold but have grown up most of my life in the hot heat of St. George, UT. I'm a big fan of sunshine, milk, bike rides, temples, anything red velvet, nature, and country music. I play the violin and piano and love all good music. As for other hobbies, I like doing pretty much anything, as long as I'm in good company:). As a missionary, I'm in-between my schooling at Brigham Young University and who-knows-what-school-next. I'm also a licensed cosmetologist with a special liking for haircuts and waxing. A few short weeks is all that separates my skills and fellow missionaries who will surely test and use them!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of this church my entire life. I was blessed to have been born into a family where everyone is a member, even almost all of my extended family on both sides. The strong testimony of my parents and siblings helped me to gain my own growing up. I have been truly converted to the gospel through my own personal scripture study, prayer, and diligence to keeping the commandments. My testimony has grown little by little as I exercise faith in Jesus Christ and the principles of His gospel. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true. I know that we are guided by a true prophet today, Thomas S. Monson. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I am so grateful for the Atonement that he performed so that we could repent and return to live with Him someday. I know that God is our Heavenly Father and that him and his son, Jesus Christ, love each of us more than we could ever imagine. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and restored the gospel to this Earth. I am so grateful for his many sacrifices. I'm grateful for my family and the many blessings that this gospel brings into my life. Moroni 10:3-5 "Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things."

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to always follow the example of Jesus Christ. Every day is different and holds new challenges and opportunities. There are so many ways that I can follow His example, whether it is through fulfilling a calling in my ward, sharing the talents I've been given, serving people who need help, or simply being kind. Each of these opportunities allows me to emulate Christ's example and come closer to Him. I also live my faith by preparing to serve a mission and by soon preaching the gospel and helping others come unto Christ.
