Hi I'm Joshua Gregg

I grew up in Denver, have a family of different religious beliefs, love being involved with music, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've grown up being involved with playing some sort of musical instrument since I was about 5 years old. Played baseball for about 8 years as well before finally realizing my talents are not in the area of sports. Throughout my high school career I went through about 6 different schools. I've moved around quite a lot for differing reasons. I love different cultures, and studying why people do what they do. The rise and fall of the great civilizations of old such as Greece, Rome, and others.

Why I am a Mormon

While I grew up, I had the opportunity to see the practices of different religions. In part because of my friends, but more so because of my parents. My father is not a member of the church, but my mother is. I did grow up with exposure to the church, but also had the opportunity to study and see the reasons why other faiths profess what they do. Eventually, it got the point that it seemed that everyone has good things that they claim, but Christ only had things set up one way. So I took it upon myself to ask God, the one person who knows what's right and wrong, which church is right and which one I need to participate in. I didn't get any huge earthshattering experience telling me which was right, rather constant small assurances of which was right. As I continued to study, there were too many questions unanswered and concerns not solved with other faiths. The road to be where I am now is not an easy one, as half of my family does not support the church or the things involved with it, but it is the Church that Christ set up, and I consider myself extremely lucky to be able to be a member of His Church and have the knowledge I have of the truth.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have the opportunity to share the Gospel with those who are looking for answers in life and trying to find things that will help them with the many challenges we all face. Before my mission I lived the Gospel by just trying to be an example to people around me. Standing for my standards even when people may not agree or understand why. Trying to help those that need a hand to help them get out of the situations they are in.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Joshua Gregg
In the Bible Christ teaches that if we try the doctrine, we will know if it's true or not. In the Book of Mormon, the prophet Alma teaches the same thing in a slightly longer sermon. That if we even just have the desire to know if something is true, and act on that desire. Through obedience to God's commandments and taking the time to try your faith with whatever you are trying to learn, that you will be able to tell the answer by the fruit of your work.
