Hi I'm Emily

I am a two-time state soccer champion, aspiring attorney, and a sister missionary. I'm a mormon.

About Me

As a tenacious, redheaded youth I determined to try every activity I could. The sport that I loved most was soccer, which I have played since I was three. During my high school soccer career I was fortunate enough to win two Washington State Soccer Championships. During my time at University, I dedicated myself to my schoolwork. My success enabled me to receive an internship offer from a top-ten global law firm. My successful completion of this internship has helped me prepare for law school, and my future legal career. My two older brother's successful completion of full-time LDS missions set a standard of missionary service in my family. I have prepared to serve a mission from the time I was young. I look forward to serving my Heavenly Father for 18 months.

Why I am a Mormon

The joy I receive from being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is unmatched by my temporal accomplishments. I find my greatest happiness by living the teachings of the gospel. My life, as well as the lives of my family, has been immensely blessed as we have tried to be like our Savior Jesus Christ. I am a member of His church because He loves me unconditionally, and sacrificed His life so I can live with Him again.

How I live my faith

Many of the greatest challenges to my faith have accompanied my greatest accomplishments. Although I was determined to become a great soccer player, I knew that renewing my covenants each Sunday while attending church was more important than winning soccer games. Although this disqualified me from playing on the top teams in the state, the time I spent in church helped me understand a greater purpose in my life. Although I plan to attend law school and a successful legal career, I believe that being a mother is the greatest accomplishment I can achieve. My mother has dedicated her life to raising my siblings, and I owe all of my successes to her. I look forward to becoming a mother someday. Many friends and colleagues do not understand why I am putting my schoolwork and career aspirations on hold; however, I feel blessed to have the opportunity to serve a mission for my Heavenly Father.
