Hi I'm Cameron

I'm a future Californian, college freshman, devourer of cereal, and currently serving my heart out in Deutschland. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently serving as a missionary in the Germany Frankfurt Mission. I'm a 19 year old Utah kid, a freshman at BYU, and I took a break from school, sports, and friends to represent the Church for 2 years. I'm the fourth from your typical, yet totally unique Mormon family of 5 kids, and you know it's always a party. I love my family more than I could ever hope to describe and would do anything for them. I consume twice as much cereal as your average American (breakfast, lunch, dinner, & midnight snack) when I'm not laughing so hard that I'm crying with my friends. I am completely convinced by the scripture in 2 Nephi 2:25 that says "Adam fell that men might be, and men are that they might have joy." The purpose of this life is to have joy, so if you aren't happy, either you have to figure out what life is really all about, or you don't appreciate enough the things you already have. It's all around us, and until we get more, we just gotta make that best out of what we have!

Why I am a Mormon

Because I have no reason not to be. My religion and the gospel of Jesus Christ have affected and strengthened me in every aspect of my life. The gospel of Jesus Christ and the message of the Restoration are messages of hope, of happiness, of blessings, and of peace. It is a perfect church, focused on helping imperfect people like you and I push past our imperfections and improve our lives step by step, day by day. It has brought me to the knowledge that Christ lives! And he loves us more than we can imagine. We have a loving Father in Heaven who loves us, and wants to help us find happiness. He still speaks to us today through prayer, through scripture, and through his prophets and apostles. The type of life He asks us to live does not limit our freedom, rather it enables our freedom, keeping us on a more stable path toward lasting happiness. This message and gospel has brought me so much happiness, that I decided it was worth it to leave my regular life behind for two years and travel 5000 miles to Germany, to share that message and give other people the chance to experience the same joy I can every day. I love it! I love my Father in Heaven. I know He is there, and that He hears my prayers. I know that for God, nothing is impossible; and as a son of God, he will always be by my side to help me. I could not possibly be any happier!

How I live my faith

Before my mission, I served in my ward as a teacher for the 8-11 year old boys, boys who are about to be ordained into the Aaronic Priesthood. I try to set an example for them on how to prepare to become a future missionary for the Church, and they gave me an awesome opportunity in learning how to explain things in very basic terms (patience is a given.) I also teach families in my ward with my dad on a once-a-month basis and share with them messages we feel they need to hear and look for ways in which we can serve them. As a Mormon, and especially a missionary, you find out that you are an example and ALWAYS being watched, in what you do and in what you say. I have nothing to hide about who I am and what I believe, and in fact, if you wanna know, I know some people who would be happy to fill you in!
