Hi I'm Tucker

I'm a musician. I'm a college student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently attending college as a Music Education Major, and I passionately love music. I currently play clarinet, saxophone and piano, but I hope to learn many more! I am going into Music Education to become a high school band/orchestra director because I want to help other teenagers find the joy and the wonder in music that I found as a high school student. Music has always inspired me and brought me peace, and I know that so many high school students today need peace in an increasingly chaotic world.

Why I am a Mormon

Because I believe that Joseph Smith has restored the true gospel to the earth. There have been many experiences that have born testimony of this in my life, but one sticks out in particular. I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, but I never truly knew whether or not the Church was true. One day, I was attending my Sunday meetings, and my teacher asked if I would pray to know that Joseph Smith is a prophet. I didn't think much of it, thinking "I already have a testimony. I've been a member my whole life. Why would I need to pray?" That night, my teacher's plea came back to me, and I resolved to kneel down and ask my Heavenly Father if it was really true. I felt more warmth, more peace, and a surer knowledge that Joseph Smith was indeed a true prophet and that I was part of the true Church than I have ever felt in my whole life. To this day, I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel and brought forth the Book of Mormon. I know that the Book of Mormon is true, and it has blessed my life immeasurably. I know that Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today, and that he receives revelation from God. This revelation is to let us know how to come back to God and live with him forever. Finally, I know that God loves us.

How I live my faith

Mostly, I do small things to help my ward. I am attending school currently, and I visit some students from my ward every so often to see how they are doing, what is going on in their lives, and if there is anything I could do to help or serve them. I am also in charge of the music for my ward meetings, so it is my responsibility to see that there is an organist, a chorister, and hymns to sing for every meeting. Individually, I read my scriptures and pray every day to help me to come closer to God. Nothing really big, but it helps me have light and peace in my life. I am also preparing to serve the Lord for a two-year full-time mission. I am excited and anxious to go, and I have been so my whole life.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Yes, and it is such a beautiful thing! We believe that, if the couple is worthy, they can be sealed for eternity in our temples. We believe that the sealing power was restored through Joseph Smith and that, with the proper authority, a husband and wife can be together in the next life as well as this one, as long as they keep the commandments of God. Also, we believe that their children can be sealed to them for eternity as well. I'm not married currently, but I cannot tell you how excited I am to marry a righteous woman in the temple! I want to be with my future wife and children for forever, and I am so glad that Heavenly Father, in his infinite mercy and love, has provided a way for us to be with those we love for forever. It is certainly a great blessing. Show more Show less
