Hi I'm Clayton

I'm a sports fanatic. I'm extremely competitive and love hiking, camping, and anything else outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the third oldest child in a mixed family of nine. It was different at first to have some new older brothers and sisters, but I wouldn't trade them for anything. I plan to go to college at Utah State University after serving my mission in Mexico. I'm not entirely sure what to go to school for, but it'll be something that involves associating with people all the time. I'm not the type of person to sit at a desk all day. I'm a highly competitive man who makes the most simple thing a competition. Many consider me to be "overly pumped-up" about anything. But hey, what's life for if you're not excited about doing everything?

Why I am a Mormon

Although I've grown up in the church, I've had many questions about my faith in the past. These questions always stayed in my mind throughout the past. So I asked some of my church leaders and parents about these questions, and what they feel is the right answer for them. But I felt the impression to ask God personally about these questions. So late one night, I fell on my knees and poured out the problems in my mind to God and asked if what I've learned and what I'm doing is right. It was then that I felt something I haven't felt for a long time. I felt a peace in my mind and in my heart. And the best part of it all is that this peace continued to grow the days that followed. I know that God hears and answers prayers. And I know that Jesus Christ loves us. He has restored His church upon the earth and it's glory and peace gives me happiness every day of my life. I want everyone to feel this same peace and love that I've felt knowing that Christ is our Savior and Redeemer and that we can return to our Heavenly Father and have Salvation through Christ's Atonement.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by my example more than my words. Sure it's nice to be able to tell others how you live your faith, but it's more valuable for them to realize it by your actions every day. I enjoy serving those in my neighborhood, whether it's by doing hard yard work, or by just saying a kind hello. I've had multiple leadership roles in my local community and have had the chance for others to see my faith by my actions. I firmly believe that you can bring others closer to Christ by living and showing how you love those around you. I've always felt more admiration for those that actually care about my well being. Once I've felt they love me for a person and want the best for me, I've noticed that I'll take what they say more seriously and not just as advice. God wants us to live our religion every day with everyone we meet. Not just once a week every Sunday.
