Hi I'm Burgandy

I attend Brigham Young University. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Utah where I am a student at BYU studying nutrition. My goal is to become a dietician helping others make healthy food choices to improve their health and happiness. I love my family! I am the oldest of five children and we all seem to get along pretty well. I am blessed with a big family and an even bigger extended family. My favorite holiday is Thanksgiving because all of my extended family gets together for a week to cook, do fun things together and enjoy each other’s company. I like to go hiking and I love to explore new places. Soon I will get to explore a very new place because I have been called to serve as a missionary in the Porto Alegre South Brazil Mission. I am excited to serve the people of Brazil for 18 months!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it is the only way I have found that brings true happiness and joy. When I keep the commandments and follow the instruction given to us by prophets of God I am happier, healthier and I have peace. When life gets difficult, I have no need to fear because I know I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and has a plan for me. He loves me just like my earthly father does, and He has promised us that if we keep His commandments He will bless and protect us. Even when things don't always work according to my plan, I know that they work out according to God's plan, and God's plan is always way better for me than my plan, anyway. I am a Mormon because I don't know what I would do without it!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going to church every Sunday to remember Christ. I also like to read the Book of Mormon and pray to our Heavenly Father every day because it brings happiness and peace into my busy life. I enjoy serving others by volunteering in different programs. Some of these include working with underprivileged children as a mentor, working with special needs youth at weekly activities, volunteering at soup kitchens and helping out at shelters. At church I serve my fellow members by doing my visiting teaching. Visiting teaching is a program where the women in the church get assigned to be a friend to and visit other women. I love this because I get to make new friends and serve God by serving his children.
