Hi I'm Mackenzie

I am a college student. I love travel. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love life. I love to be outside hiking or swimming or laying in the grass at the park. I am a college student for the next 2-4 years. I like reading, running, riding bikes, listening to live music, and being adventurous. I value my relationships with friends and family above most other things, but I value my relationship with God above all things.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family who were all members of the church. My parents raised me to love God and to know that He loves me. After graduating high school I started questioning my faith in my religion and fell away from the church for a year and a half. One summer, however, I took a vacation to Salt Lake City, UT to visit family. As we walked around outside of the Salt Lake City temple, I had a strong feeling that I needed to return to the church and be faithful to my religion. I had never felt anything as absolute and undeniable as this feeling. It took me awhile to truly commit, but I have now been an active member of the LDS church for two and a half years. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ because I love God and will do anything to show my devotion to Him. He loves me and His son died for our sins so that we can someday return to Him again. I absolutely believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Christ to help us live a good and faithful life. I believe that President Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God and receives revelations from Him to lead and direct the Church today. I know that if I lead a faithful and devoted life, always trying to do what God wants of me, that I will have the opportunity to live in God's presence once more.

How I live my faith

To show my devotion to God and to love and support others of my faith, I go to church every week. I have responsibilities there to help and support the other members. My current responsibilities are in a committee of women. I keep records of our meetings, help plan events, and help look after the spiritual and temporal needs of the women of our church. I love my calling because it gives me an opportunity to serve and to feel Christ-like love for my fellow church members. I have learned compassion and charity from the responsibilities I have had.
