Hi I'm Jordi

I grew up in Canada. My parents joined the church when I was very young and so I have grown up in the gospel.

About Me

I love Skating! I have Figure Skated for approximately 11 years, volunteered with skating for a few years and have been coaching for 2 years. I have taught Private skaters, Jump Start, Kidskate, Canskate, Pre-Power, Can Power, and I recently taught technique to a hockey team. I am finishing of my certification to teach Group Fitness classes. Currently I am enrolled in a 2 year college program to become a Personal Fitness Trainer. I love teaching people and am really enjoying school and all I have learnt. For fun I like to relax sometimes but I do enjoy being active. I like to play hockey, sled, snowboard, sing, dance, amusement rides, waterslides, be in the sun, swim, and spend time with family and friends. The church in young single adults is so FUN! There are always awesome, wholesome, creative activities going on. There are always classes to increase knoledge and there are amazing people!

Why I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon has not changed drastically over the years but it has become a deeper relationship for me. Growing up in the Church the best way I found of developing my testimony was LIVING IT! The lord asks us multiple times in the scriptures to prove him, (TEST IT OUT!). I love my Heavenly Father. I am so grateful to have all the council I have from modern day revelation through Thomas S. Monson, my prophet. I know that I can receive personal revelation through the scriptures, pray're and my patriarchal blessing. This year has been a challenge for me in many ways that I never could have anticipated. The only way that I could of overcome the things I have is by my Saviour being there for every step of the way. I made scripture study a priority in my life this year and I testify of the power that it has. I know the scriptures have changed my life and that they can change yours. The spirit and the peace of the gospel is one of the greatest blessings in my life. Christ has atoned for my sins and for yours, that we may return back to our Heavenly Father. I know that he lives and loves each of his children. He wants nothing more than for us to return back to him. He knows us personally and he has felt everything we will ever feel. I know that the Temple is the House of the Lord and that this is where on the Earth we can be the closest to our Heavenly Father. I know that the gospel is not always easy to live by and that there are things that we each struggle with. However, I also know that we have people in our lives that will help us through the Saviours guiding hand. We have been placed in families for divine purposes, and I know that I can be with my family for eternity. If you have problems with your family, I encourage you to allow the church members to be your family because we are all brothers and sisters. I also encourage you to look forward if you are not married or even if you are, to be sealed in the temple for time and all eternity.

How I live my faith

Living by Faith has not always been easy. I grew up in the Church. My parents got baptized when I was about 2 years old. The times when I have felt the largest temptations to drink have been probably in gr.9 and now. However, they are very different. In grade nine I wanted to go to an alcholic party and not drink. I asked my mom if I could go. She told me she did not want me to go, but that it was my decision. This weighted on me a lot. I knew that my mom had a lot more wisdom than I did and I respected her. I decided to not go to the party and have decided not to ever since. For me I made it up in my mind that I was not going to clubs and alcoholic parties and so the decision was always easy for me. People stopped asking me to come to parties etc because they knew that I would stand firm. Now as I am in college I have to re-establish my standards with my fellow peers. It is even more shocking to them at this age that I have never drank alcohol etc.. I live my faith by having a testimony that this is the true church upon the earth and that I need to trust in the lord to get me through but I must do my part.
