Hi I'm Jakob

I grew up in Montpelier Idaho, I love the outdoors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love the outdoors! I’ll take any opportunity to be in the mountains skiing, rock climbing, and spending time with my family. My family means everything to me! They have brought me up in a home centered on Christ, and helped me find the Joy in everything that life offers. I enjoy playing the piano, drawing, and pushing myself to discover and develop new skills and hobbies. I cave just about every time when it comes to sweets! I love meeting new people, and I love spending time with friends. I am currently serving in the Missouri Independence Mission. It has been such a sacred experience! I have learned so much about our Savior’s love for each of us! Access to His love and atonement is extended to all who will learn and live His restored gospel!

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon means everything to me! As I have searched the Book of Mormon and likened its teachings, I have found peace and joy. Application of Christ’s teachings combined with prayer has led me to an unwavering testimony of the Book of Mormon. This spiritual confirmation of the divinity of the Book of Mormon has brought me to know that its translator, Joseph Smith, is called as a prophet of God. I know that God has called prophets and restored His priesthood to the earth in our day! I know that he loves us the same today as in times past when He called prophets. I know that our Heavenly Father wants us to know these things for ourselves, and has made that possible through study and prayer. Being Mormon has brought direction to my life that could not be there otherwise. It has addressed questions of life after death, and given me purpose and direction in my daily pursuits. The fullness of God’s plan for us can be known, and the fullness of God’s love can be felt in this, His church. Seek out the truth of Christ’s restored church for yourself and feel of the peace it can bring! God’s invitation to all is to “Come and see.” (John 1:39).

How I live my faith

Living my faith has been such an enormous blessing in my life! One of my favorite passages from the Book of Mormon states “…And now, if you believe all these things see that ye do them.” (Mosiah 4:10). I know Christ to be my Savior, and I know His restored gospel is true. Opportunities to live my faith have come in many forms! I look for chances to serve in the community, and have seen my own life blessed as I give said services. Opportunities to meet and serve new people have helped me understand the Savior’s love for each of us. Service has been a release during times of stress and decision making. I love sharing my testimony with everyone! This has helped me grow spiritually above all other things. To me, living my faith means to turn outward and serve others. When I see a need, I do all within my power to fill it.
