Hi I'm Abraham Muldowney

I'm from Philadelphia. I like working with horses. I listen to classical music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a large family. I am the ninth of twelve kids, and I am an eagle scout. I love horses, and have been riding and working in stables since I was seven years old. I have participated in equitation events and have won a number of awards. I love swimming and I swam competitively in high school. I love listening to classical music. I play the piano, and my favorite piano piece to play is the Mozart Piano Sonata #3. I have been working in an ice cream parlor for the last two years in order to save money for a full-time mission. I will serving in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the LDS church since I was a kid. I always felt like it was true. When I was older I developed my own testimony of the truth of the gospel. I did this by praying and asking Heavenly Father if it was true, with a sincere heart, and believing that he would answer me. On a number of occasions I have had the Holy Spirit testify to my heart that gospel as revealed to the prophet Joseph Smith is true. As I read the scriptures and strive to keep the commandments, my testimony of these things grows stronger. I know Christ is our Savior and that he lives. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that he translated the Book of Mormon through the power of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the Lord's prophet today. I know that God wants the best for his children and that this gospel forms the path that he wishes all of his children to take.

How I live my faith

As an eagle scout I have served extensively in my community by participating in numerous service activities. I also took a leadership role in a Christmas Stocking service project for the Salvation Army. I am also involved in civic issues and local statesmanship. When hurricane "Sandy" struck the east coast I went to Staten Island to help with recovery efforts. Service and community involvement is related to my faith because the scriptures teach us to be charitable, and this is one way in which I can truly demonstrate to others the convictions of my beliefs. In addition to serving in the community, I also serve in church. I have been involved in leadership capacities in the Young Men's organization at church since I was thirteen. I conducted meetings, and planned and supervised group activities. I have also visited the homes of members of my congregation every month and shared prayers and scripture messages with them.
