Hi I'm Dave

I've been a CFO for major companies both in the U.S. and in Germany. I am now retired enjoying grandchildren. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of three children, and a grandfather of (currently) four. I have a magnificent wife and a wonderful extended family. I have a legal and financial background that has given me experiences working in leadership positions in major firms both in the United States and in Germany. I am very much a family man. I love spending time with my grandchildren. I love most kinds of music. I enjoy very much the beautiful in life, the good moments in life - which usually are always moments with my family!

Why I am a Mormon

Miguel de Cervantes wrote "maddest of all is to see life as it is and not as it should be.” There is so much of sorrow, so much emptiness, and too little love, selflessness and happiness in our world. I was blessed to have been raised by wonderful parents who helped me understand how we can avoid so much of the unhappiness and despair in the world by living the simple truths taught by Christ. I have come to know that the teachings of the Savior, if only lived, can lead to "life as it should be". I have come to know that happiness does not come from the things we possess in this life, or the pleasures we can find in life. True happiness comes from following the Lord's simple commandments, treating each person we see - regardless of position in life or what they can do for us - as children of a loving Father in Heaven, as truly my brothers and sisters. I know that I am a Child of God. I know that we find true happiness and peace in this life only through living His commandments, and - if we are worthy - we will have the chance to live with Him and with those we love after this life ends. I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is just that - the Church of our Savior Jesus Christ. I know that the principles and ordinance found in this church can lead us back to our Father, and to live with our loved ones forever - if we will but follow the commandments and teachings of the Savior and of the Prophets who he has called to guide us.

How I live my faith

I have been an active member of the church for my entire life. I have had the chance of working with children and youth in various capacities, including work with the Boy Scouts and teaching youth and children. Earlier in my life I voluntarily served as a missionary, spending two years working with wonderful people in Bolivia. I have been a Bishop (of a ward, or local congregation) and currently serve in a Stake Presidency (a larger loal organization, made up of several wards). Most special has been the chance (often in small ways) to help people in my family, my church, and my community.
