Hi I'm Austin

I am a student. A friend. I love to sing and play sports. And I'm a Mormon

About Me

I've spent most of my life living in Mesa, AZ. I am a full-time college student and part-time teller at a bank. I love having a good time and being actively involved with sports. Music is one of my loves in this life. I have studied singing for the last couple of years and I have played the cello for about 11 years. I love learning new and useful things. I am usually a pretty busy person between school and work but when I can I try to do community service. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to help people out and know that I don't need formal recognition to feel good about what I do. I served a two year mission for the church in Eastern France and Switzerland. I am the oldest of three children. My family is....interesting sometimes, but I love them anyways.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because I know that this church truly is the only true and living church that God accepts as His own. I know this because I've prayed to gain understanding of His will for me. I've prayed to understand if this Church is His own. I've read the Book of Mormon and asked if it were true. And He has answered me. I didn't hear an audible voice or see some great sign. It was a warm sensation inside and an overwhelming calm and joy that come over me. These same feelings come whenever I open the pages of the Book of Mormon and read its words. I know without a doubt in my mind that this church is the only true church of God on the earth. As well, the principles taught just make sense. There are no conflicts of doctrine and I love that I can say that. If you are interested in learning more then I urge you to do so. Do it with a sincere desire and I promise you that you will come to understand and know that these things are true for yourself.

How I live my faith

Being a member of the church isn't always the easiest thing to do. But it sure is worth it. I try to be an example to my friends, family, and all of those that I come into contact with. By striving to live what I know to be true, those around me have told me that they notice a difference in me- a good difference that is. I am a teacher on Sunday for my ward. It is a wonderful responsibility to help others learn and better understand the principles that are taught.

Are Mormons Christians?

Austin
The official name of the church isn't the Mormon church but rather The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We believe in and worship the Son of the Living God, Jesus Christ. He is our Savoir and Redeemer. His teachings truly are at the center of what we believe. He is at the head of the Church. All that is taught in the church is based on the teachings of the Master himself. We do not view Christ in the same way as many churches that believe in the Holy Trinity do. He is a separate being from the Father and The Holy Ghost. Because we do not believe in this idea, it does not make us any less Christian. Show more Show less
