Hi I'm Kitty G.

I'm a wife, a gamer, a writer, a blogger, and training for search and rescue and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My life changed the day my nephew turned to me and asked me if I knew Jesus. He was ill, the tumor in his brain stem was growing again and I knew he wouldn’t be with us much longer. He was just a boy, terrified of going somewhere without his family with with much stronger than any mustard seed, how could I not pray to bring God and Christ back into my life? That day I started a walk of faith, struggling to find and maintain an identity in Christ, complicated by loosing the catalyst, my nephew only a few weeks later. I wouldn't truly pray for Christ to enter my life until a year after my nephews death after seeing 'The Star of Bethlehem' a documentary proving the existence of the Star using the Star's Biblical Characteristics.

Why I am a Mormon

I'd grown up believing in all of the stereotypes. I was even working on a degree in Ministry where one my Masters Thesis was written based on the Evangelical View of the Church. You can probably guess that that paper was very one sided, and very full of the negative stereotypes. Then I met an amazing man, his family was Mormon and I was a bit scared. Those stereotypes, they were scary! It would take months for me to be able to say anything when we spent time with his family. Once I finally started talking and realized that the stereotypes were as far from the truth as possible my life changed. I read the Book of Mormon, cover to cover, and at the prompting of a friend, a returned Missionary, I found the scientific basis in the history of the Native People of the Americas and followed the history of native people, through the stories in the Book of Mormon. At the prompting of our Bishop, before I was baptized, I prayed for hours, and found the answer in my heart that I already knew was true. I was baptized September 24, 2011. That man and I, we got married on April 21, 2012.

How I live my faith

Every day is a new challenge, and each challenge is met knowing that the life I'm living is the one Heavenly Father planned for me, even if I don't always agree with him.
