Hi I'm Ty

I grew up in American Fork, Utah. I am soon to serve in the South Korea Buson mission. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 19 year old young man who will be serving in the South Korea Buson mission on January 2013-January 2015. I have many hobbies which include sports and cooking. I played football from 5th grade until 12th grade. I love weight lifting and power lifting. I have experience as a baker at a doughnut shop. Cooking is on of my favorite things to do, especially doing so for my family. I have 1 brother and 2 sisters. I come from a fairly large family and I love it. I am a high school graduate and intend on attending college as soon as I return home from my mission. I am planning on becoming an Air Traffic Controller when I get older. I have always loved aviation, but because of my poor vision I am unable to become a pilot. So becoming an ATC was the next best thing. I am very excited to do so. I love plays and musicals. I also love the music from the 1920's-1960's and really all music. That is a little about me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and have lived it my entire life. At times when I struggle, I turn to the scriptures or advisers in the church for answers and guidance. When I do so, I feel so strongly that I am in the correct Church and the comfort of our Heavenly Father, that it is impossible for me to refute the Church. The influence that the Church has on my family and the messages it shares really strengthens us to be close. I love these concepts and I know that they are true. I know (from reading the scriptures) that I can be with my family forever. From these teachings, I know that the Church is my place to be. I love being a Mormon and couldn't imagine where I would be without the Church.

How I live my faith

I attend my meetings in the church. I love serving others, whether it be helping them move or by cooking a dinner for them. I love going to the many families in my ward and seeing if they need anything or just to share a quick message from the Presidency. This activity is what we refer to as home teaching and it is by far one of my favorites. Serving people who are around me is one of the most exciting things I get to do and I am always happy to do so. I also enjoy doing temple works for my deceased families. I love sharing the message, that The Book of Mormon contains to all those who are willing to hear.
