Hi I'm Jessica Schindler

I grew up in Washington state. I work full time at a delicious bakery and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I started my prerequisites for Veterinarian Technician a few years ago and i am hoping to start my course when i get home from my 18 month mission. Most weeks I work at least 40hours and struggle to keep in contact with close friends. I used to have seizures and took medicine for 5 yrs. My brother is now also a vitctim of seizures and still stuggles to control them somtimes. Family is one of the most important things in my life other than following Christ's wonderful example and helping those around me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and got baptized when I was 8 yrs old. My grandpa was the one that was able to baptize me and confirm me a member of His church. Some people don't always think that people that have been born into the church would have a conversion story..I am here to tell you that I truely have had a change of heart over the past few years. Many years ago I got what is called a Patriartical Blessing. It tells you that if you live the gospel and abide the principles then certain blessings will come and even has warnings in some also. I got mine when I was about 16 yrs old and never wanted to serve a mission. I went into the Patriarch's house with the thought that if it said that I would serve a mission then I would stop coming to church, However, it only said "The option for you to serve a mission is up to you if you desire" So it was ok. Years down the road and after attending 4yrs of church school aka Seminary I realized that I actually want to serve a mission and wanted to teach people of the gospel. I had a friend I was teaching and he was very interested and I realized that I loved teaching people about God and about His restored gospel. The happiness that I have found through the teachings of the church has really strengthened me and those around me. I heard a saying that confirmed my want to serve a full time mission "Missionaries leave their home for a short time so that others can be with their families forever" This is the true gospel and I am so grateful to know that.

How I live my faith

I have been the pianist for the sisters in my ward/community. I have also had the oppurtunity to play as the pianist for the little kids ages 3-12. I am a visiting teacher, which means that I am assigned to a certain number of ladies in the ward/community that I am responsible to teach at least once a month and make sure they are doing well. I had the oppurtunity to be a leader for a girls camp which consisted of making sure they went to their classes and had a great time.
