Hi I'm Mac

I'm from Tampa, Florida. I love sports. I am currently serving a mission in the Arcadia California Mission. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born into the church, and have gone all my life. Growing up though, I learned what it meant to have a true conversion to the gospel of Jesus Christ. You can go through the motions all you want, but until you apply the gospel, and use it in your own life, it doesn't mean anything. I'll talk about that a bit later though. I love sports! I played football in highschool. I love music, and play the violin. I have 6 siblings, 3 are adopted. My youngest sister was adopted from Guatamala, and my youngest brother from Tampa. I have no set plans for college, but I have my ideas. Right now I am dedicating my life to the Lord by serving a full time mission in the Arcadia, California Mission.

Why I am a Mormon

Even members born into the church still need to be converted, and so it was with me. Up untill I was about 15 or 16, I had just gone to church, and that's all it really was, was church. That year, I went to EFY over the summer, sort of like a church youth camp, and discovered what it really meant to apply the gospel to myself. While building my testimony, I also met some of my best friends through things like EFY, and the church youth program. It really helped to have others around me that were all striving for the same goal. It was then that I began to start seriously thinking about serving a mission. All the events after have shaped my testimony, and made me who I am today, and ultimately, the reason why I am on a mission. I know that my Redemer, Jesus Christ lives. He suffered and died for our sins. I know that I have a father in heaven, who loves me, and everyone else. He has a plan for us to return to live with him, as long as we follow Christ. The gospel can change lives, and bless you immensely. I know that the church is restored on the earth today, and I do have a personal testimony that it was done through Joseph Smith, a true prophet of the lord. Thomas S. Monson is a living prophet today. The restored gospel is for everyone.

How I live my faith

How do I live my faith? Well, currently I live my faith through missionary service. Constant study, prayer, and learning are all part of this. As a full time missionary, my job is to help bring others unto Christ. I do whatever is required of me to build up Christ's kingdom. Through this work, I am able to serve others, and put aside my own needs for two years. I live my faith by spreading the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redemer.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

No, we do not! We worship our father in heaven, and our Savior Jesus Christ! We believe that Christ's original church was restored BY Jesus Christ, THROUGH Joseph Smith. The church was built up through Joseph Smith, a prophet of the Lord. A prophet is the Lord's mouthpiece here on earth. He is capable of revelation for all the world. The authority of the priesthood, or the power to act in God's name, was restored to the earth to Joseph Smith. Jospeh Smith is very important, but we do not by any means worship him.
