Hi I'm Matt Ising

I'm from Leavenworth, Washington. I am the oldest of 9 kids, I am a full time missionary in West Virginia, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I have 2 younger brothers and 6 younger sisters. I enjoy hiking, fishing, spending time with friends and family, and knitting. I have either played an instrument or sung in a choir since I was eight years old. I am currently serving a mission in the West Virginia, Charleston Mission. I love cooking and baking, but I love my family more.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in a family with strong faith in the church. But I have come to know for myself through prayer that this is where I'm supposed to be, and I'm glad that my parents brought me up teaching me about Jesus Christ. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the same church that Christ established during his earthly ministry. I know that through Him we can be saved and return to live with our Heavenly Father. I know that the Book of Mormon contains the fulness of the gospel and that it has brought me closer to Christ than any other book. Living the teachings that it contains has brought me and my family so much joy and has brought us closer together as a family. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that he restored the plain and precious things that were lost through the ages. I know that we have a living prophet to day, and that he leads and guides the Church through revelation.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing the best I can to be more like Christ. I try to set a good example for my siblings, though I know I'm not the best sometimes. I study in the scripture every day and I'm doing my best to share the light of the gospel with the people I come in contact with.
