Hi I'm Phil

I'm a husband, a father, an attorney and a federal regulator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Above all and most importantly, I'm a husband and a father. I'm also a son, brother, and uncle. Family is my priority. My hobbies essentially center around time with family, whether it's reading kids' books with my daughter, playing basketball with my nephews, or simply listening to stories of an older family member's past. I work as an attorney and regulator for the federal government of the United States. Every blessing in my life can be directly traced to my affiliation with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, particularly to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Membership in the Church is a way of life, not a mere Sunday morning activity. The Church is the institution that houses the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm a "Mormon" because I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that which fulfills our true purpose in this life, that we might have joy, progress, and prepare for continued family relations for all eternity. Only the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints houses the fulness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the power and authority to realize those eternal blessings.

How I live my faith

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is a message of service. Members of the Church voluntarily serve in a variety of capacities in the Church, without pay. I served as a missionary in Chile for two years, paying my own way. There I became fluent in Spanish, taught English classes, participated in meaningful service projects, and taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I serve in a leadership position in my local congregation, dedicated to ensuring that all spiritual and temporal needs of our members are met. We also look after the temporal needs of our communities. Most recently, several Church volunteers from our local region participated in a multi-week relief effort in New Jersey, to assist those impacted by Hurricane Sandy. Through the Church, I've had opportunities to serve as a Scout leader, a teacher, administrator, clerk, and in various other capacities. Church service opportunities provide valuable skills that can be applied in the professional sector as well.
