Hi I'm Ashley Peine

I grew up in the military, I have all brothers, I am in college getting my bachelor in elementary ed. and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Ashley. I am in my third year of college studying to be a teacher. I love to read, travel, play games, and even uni-cycle on occasion. Growing up my dad was in the military and I was able to see much of the United States and Europe. I loved moving around and meeting so many people but it was hard every time we had to leave and say goodbye to my great friends. Moving around so much has brought me closer to those that are constant in my life, my family. I love to be with all of my brothers and I am even close with all my cousins. I love all the fun and crazy things we do together. I am a big fan of music as well. I am not the best piano player or guitarist in the world by when I get the time I love to just teach myself. In high school I was a part of the students council and swim team and loved being involved. Now in college I am involved on campus with service activities. I love planning some of the service activities we put on throughout the semester and have made so many friends. In school I try hard to balance how social I am, my sleep, and my school work but just like anyone else that becomes pretty hard. I love staying busy though and enjoy the fun moments that come out of being crazy from that one night of lack of sleep. Overall I try to work my hardest, get all A's, and help others as much as possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that what I have been taught in my home and what I have felt is true and I can't deny any of those experiences. I see the light of Christ in so many others and love to be around those who are so wonderful. I know this gospel to be true. I have felt that ring true each time I study, pray, and serve. I know that through Christ and his sacrifice I will be able to live with him again. I may have grown up in the church but I have found out for myself that this is true. It is hard these days but I will be strong and I know we can all do it.

How I live my faith

I try to live in service for my fellow beings. I am always willing to drop what I am doing if it means someone else will be happy and know that there is someone who cares about them. I have had a few opportunities to help within the church. I have been a Sunday School teacher, working on family history, taught the 3 year old's during church, and have worked with the children in teaching music. I have loved teaching! I have also had the opportunity to be a lifeguard at a girls camp put on by the church and enjoyed being with those wonderful youth. All of these opportunities have brought me closer to my Savior. I also make the effort to always continue to learn more about the teachings of Christ. I want to know him and truly know what he did for me. I try to live by the golden rule, "Treat others as you would like to be treated." I want to be the best I can and therefore do what I know to be right.
