Hi I'm Rebecca

I'm a student studying finance. I want to work for a nonprofit organization giving micro-finance loans. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a student studying finance in order to work for a nonprofit organization that gives micro-finance loans in developing countries. But before I do that I am going to serve an 18 month mission as a Spanish speaking missionary in the great state of New Jersey. I enjoy skiing, hiking, biking and playing soccer. Also I love playing soccer. A few years ago I had the opportunity to serve a humanitarian trip to Kenya, which sparked my interest in micro-finance loans. I've seen lives change because of small loans giving to the poverty stricken that allow them to start and build their own businesses. I'm excited to be a part of that.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that good comes from God. And although I was raised in the LDS church, I didn't feel converted until I found out for myself. I can't name the first instance when I said, "I know this Church is true." But through slowly finding the good in life I found God. This church is filled with good things and good people. But most importantly it is based on the knowledge that Christ is our Savior. And through him all the good things of life will seem small compared to the glory we will receive in the afterlife. I know that not everything in life seems good all the time, but I can't deny that the greatest feeling in the world is to have the Holy Spirit testify to you that He lives!

How I live my faith

I work closely with other women in my area, mostly students, to strengthen and build each other. We have the opportunity to visit each other at least once a month to teach and learn from each other. Sometimes we do community activities such as visiting the local nursing home.

What is being a Mormon like?

Being a Mormon is having the peace, comfort, and assurance that although trials in this life are difficult, with God anything is possible. It's understanding who you are and having the faith to live it. Show more Show less
