Hi I'm Kristin

I'm a photographer, nurse, a wife, and a mother of little ones who are mostly big now and quite grown up. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Kristin. I take pictures, I help deliver babies, I'm mom to 4 children, mostly big now but not quite grown up . . . in fact we all have great aspirations to grow up some day. I'm a wife, and now a grandma, those are all large boots to fill. Taking pictures - I didn't start out with any real training exactly, I see a beautiful world around me everyday, I see beauty in people, in light, in all Heavenly Father's creations - and I have a terrible memory, photography helps me preserve that beauty and capture it and incorporate it into my world. I used to scrapbook as a way of preserving family memories and now I'm a blogger. I try to include those things that are important so we can remember them and share with family all around the world. Including and especially my testimony of the Gospel. I don't know why but I have 2000 blog visits monthly from countries around the world and one day it dawned on me, if they can get a glimpse into what life is like as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, well then I am grateful that I have that opportunity to share my testimony. Our purpose as parents is to make sure these souls entrusted to us get through this life, have integrity, are honest, are polite, are true throughout their lives. It doesn't end in adulthood. I continue to be influenced by the example of my parents daily. Being grandparents is the best, grandbabies are so inquisitive, we get to enjoy life seeing things through their eyes.

Why I am a Mormon

Everything that is good in my life I credit to a loving Heavenly Father that has blessed me for reasons I can't even fathom. Certainly an adherence to the teachings of the Church has been a great blessing in my life. I am a Mormon because I can't even imagine a life without the Church and faith in a Heavenly Father that gives great perspective to all things in life. I have a testimony of the power of prayer in our lives. Sometimes my prayers are not answered immediately, but eventually, as I exercise faith, I feel gentle promptings which come from the Holy Ghost - and I receive the answers that I seek. Sometimes I make mistakes, we all do, it brings great peace to be able to repent of these mistakes and humble myself, ask forgiveness and have an opportunity to try and to improve. That is what the Gospel of Jesus Christ is all about.

How I live my faith

I realize there are these moments when you can look back and see God's hand in your life and you realize, God has a plan . . . He's moving things along and we need to get on board. I have found that if I put the Lord first in my life, everything else falls into place. That includes reaching out and serving those around me in whatever way our Heavenly Father needs most at the time. And the only way we can be sure is through constant communication through prayer and seeking to know the will of the Father. Right now my husband and I teach a class on Sunday to the youth of the church age 17 and 18 years old. Most of them are growing their own testimonies of the gospel and plan to continue to learn and grow and in the next couple years serve as missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout the world. That is an awesome job and responsibility to help them become prepared for that kind of service.
