Hi I'm Devin Heid

I am from So. California and am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father to two girls and have an amazing wife. We are an active family whose activities range from Ironmans and Marathons, to kickball, freeze tag, and catching tadpoles. I received an MBA and am on the construction team for a non-denominational Christian ministry group specializing in the design and construction of houses of worship. I enjoy working alongside fellow Christians who share my belief in Jesus Christ, His limitless grace, and His word found in the Holy Bible.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a Latter-Day-Saint (Mormon) but began to develop my own conviction that this is Christ's restored church by the time I was a teenager. When I was sixteen, I read the entire Book of Mormon and felt a strong spiritual impression that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, that God loves his children, and that He continues to give revelation and scripture. I experience those same good feelings when I pray to my Heavenly Father and study Christ’s life.

How I live my faith

I try to serve others in our church and those in our community. I visit a number of families each month from our congregation and make sure they are doing well. My wife and I were heavily involved in a grassroots effort to get Prop 29 passed, which would have increased taxes on cigarettes and funded cancer research. We believe strongly that our bodies are gifts from God and we need to take care of them and live healthily. I teach Sunday School to a group of 13-yr. old youth in our congregation and am amazed at the goodness and leadership that the world has to look forward to as they get older. I am an Eagle Scout and am involved in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) as a leader.
