Hi I'm Jamie

I grew up in Arkansas.I'm a college student. I'm preparing to serve amission in Busan Korea. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student pursuing a major in International Studies. As of right now I am serving a mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter day-saints. I was called to serve the wonderful and happy people of Busan, South Korea. I have been striving to learn Korean for a month and I leave for Korea next month. This has been the most difficult thing I have ever pursued in my life. But, I have recieved so much help with the language and teaching the gospel of Christ by our loving Heavenly Father. I put off my education and will not be able to see my family for 18 months. Even with this sacrafice and the difficulty of what this service may be...there is no where else I would rather be. I love my Heavenly Father, his son and my Savior, Jesus Christ. They have provided such an amazing and awe inspiring plan for His children and my heart is full of grattitude to be able to serve them and share His plan.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and He lives. I know that through his sacrifice or his atonement we can be forgiven of our sins through prayer and repentance. I have come to know of the truth of the Book or Mormon and that it is in fact another testament of Jesus Christ. I Know the Joesph Smith is a prophet of God and that he restored Christ's church again upon the earth. This church has the authority that Jesus Christ and John the Baptist had in order to perform the ordinances( baptism and many others) that we need to enter into the kingdom of our Father in Heaven. I know that through prayer, pondering, and acting in faith believing I will receive an answer is what has brought me to this knowledge of the truth. I will be serving a mission for this church in Korea without knowing any Korean before hand I will go and teach in a foreign land. I will leave my family, friends, and education behind and go forth with faith in my Savior's ability to change my life and others as I go on the path he has placed before me. This was my own choice. I do not care if I don't baptize many all I care about is that everyday I will get up and serve the Lord and a wonderful people. I will invite them to search out for themselves these things that I have said. I will love them no matter what!!! And at the end of the day I will be grateful for the miraculous things that have already been given to me in this life by a loving Heavenly Father. I will return with Honor.

How I live my faith

Every organization established within the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints help us prepare for greater and more difficult, but joyous opportunities. Such as: preparing to serve a mission, preparing for marriage, to raise a family, to be successful in our careers...no matter where life takes you...the preparation is the same! In the cherished days I spent among other wonderful young women and our leaders I learned, felt, and understood Christ like love. And within this divine leadership nurturing environment I also learned how to express it. In this program for girls from 12- 18 years of age you learn to write the gospel principles and standards (faith, divine nature, individual worth, knowledge, choice and accountability, good works, integrity, and virtue.)not just upon your journal as you complete lessons, but those values are written upon your heart as well. The church has created these programs because God wishes to strengthen the weak and tone the strong!!! Now during these times of preparation on what ever path you intend to take I offer this counsel learn to identify the spirit of God and his light to the point that when it has been offended you feel it leave. When the spirit departs from a situation...so should you. I have a testimony of the work, lessons, and love that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints programs offers us. I have seen great and marvelous things happen within my own life that have been the direct result of attending these.
